How To Recycle An Aluminum Radiator

Aluminum is the second most recycled and demanded material in the world. However, like most metal products, it is rarely found in its pure form. It is frequently alloyed in order to provide additional texture, hardness, and strength. This form of the metal will be worth varying amounts of money based on current demand. The aluminum radiator is one item that can be recycled and will be worth more money if its plastic ends are removed.

Private recycling companies in cities throughout the United States will pay top dollar for cooling systems when demand is high. The company may provide the customer with the necessary equipment to remove the system from the car. They may also offer a trailer for the customer to use in order to transport the component to a recycling center.

Go online in order to find a directory of local companies that specialize in recycling these cooling systems. Many sell directly to mills that melt down the equipment to make another cooling system or part. In this way, the component lives to see another day, possibly in an alternate form.

Many municipalities have adopted citywide recycling programs that will accept aluminum cooling systems. Call the municipal utilities authority to learn more about its recycling guidelines. Some towns will pick the item up from the curb during designated times of the month. Others require that the item be dropped off at a city facility in order to be recycled.

When it comes time to replace the aluminum radiator in an automobile, consider recycling the product. Municipal recycling centers will gladly accept the item and private recycling companies will even pay money for these systems. The entire process is very environmentally friendly and this is a small thing that consumers can do in order to make the planet a better place.
